This fish patties recipe can be prepared with any kind of fish but make sure that all bones are removed properly. While preparing these fish cakes if you feel that the mixture is too sticky then add more bread crumbs until you can shape the mixture to cake form. Any how this recipe is very delicious and healthy snack item or side dish for dinner.
Ingredients:
6 cloves garlic (minced)
1 ½ tsp fresh ginger (chopped)
1 ½ tsp hot paprika
1/4 tsp ground cayenne pepper
2 medium size onion (minced)
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground white pepper
½ cup thickened cream
500 gm fish fillets (remove bones and skin)
2 large eggs (beaten)
2 cups bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
Oil for shallow frying
Procedure:
1. Make a smooth paste of garlic, ginger, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion, turmeric, white
pepper and cream in a food processor.
2. Rinse the fillets with salt and vinegar. Boil with 3 cloves of garlic for 10 mins. and then process in chopper to mash it.
3. Now mix mashed fillets, cream paste, beaten eggs and 1 cup bread crumbs in a mixing bowl. Cover the bowl properly and then place in fridge for 2 hours.
4. After that heat oil for shallow frying in frying pan and make 4-5 in. round patties of the mixture. Coat each cake piece with remaining bread crumbs and then fry each on medium heat for 5-8 mins until become golden brown in color from both sides.
