This is a traditional paratha recipe from South Asian Cuisine. Usually served as breakfast in almost every home. Soft paratha can only be prepared by using soft and smooth dough which depends on many factors such as technique, temperature and quantity of water. These techniques are described in this recipe below.

Procedure:
1. Take wide mixing bowl, and mix flour and salt in it.
2. At first, add one fourth cup of hot water to knead the dough. Mix water immediately into the flour so that it mixes evenly in the flour.
3. When half of the flour is kneaded then add cold water to make complete dough and mix well.
4. If you feel the dough is too soft then sprinkle some flour to make normal soft dough. Make sure the dough should smooth and there would be no lumps.
5. In the end coat the dough with a table spoon of ghee and put the dough in the bowl, cover it and leave for at least 15 minutes.
6. After that make small pieces of dough (medium tomato size) and make it thin flat shape using wooden roller.
7. Now spread a tea spoon of ghee onto the flat dough and wrap to make it square shape. The video showed below will help you to understand that how to wrap the square paratha.
8. In the end, you can either fry this bread in oil on an iron skillet.

Note:
You have to use hot and cold water to knead a good dough for paratha and for this add hot water first and mix evenly then add cold water.
Hmm this looks yummy and fairly easy to make. I’ll give it a try on the weekend.
In the ingredients list ghee is mentioned but in the video extra virgin olive oil is shown to be used. Some comment on this would have been helpful but definitely olive oil is a much healthier alternative although not as flavourful as ghee.
