Preparation time : 10 mins. + Marinating time | Serves 4-6 persons
This shish tawook recipe is Turkish style Shish Kebabs which are little bit spicier than traditional mediterranean shish kebabs. In this recipe it is prepared by stove cooking but when it is grilled on charcoal griller then will give more delicious flavor.
Ingredients:
1 large chicken breast (cut into cubes)
1/4 tsp coriander powder
1/4 tsp roasted cumin powder
Salt to taste
1 tbsp paprika
4 tbsp yogurt
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 tbsp minced garlic
2 tsp tomato ketchup
1 tbsp raw papaya paste
2 red onions (cut into cubes)
2 capsicum (cut into cubes)
2 tomatoes (seeded and cut into cubes)
Procedure:
1. Marinate the chicken and veggies with the ingredients mentioned above and leave for 2-3 hrs.
2. After that insert alternately chicken and each veggie cube into the wooden skewers and set aside.
3. Heat oil for shallow frying in grill pan and place filled skewers onto the grill pan, make sure the flame should be on medium-high heat as it cook in very short time. Turn the skewers time to time to give it equal brown color from both sides. It would take 5-8 mins. to cook completely.
4. Serve the hot sizzling, shish tawook with fried rice or garlic sauce.
